Not half bad friends to lovers story. It felt a bit amateurish but the plot panned out all right and the main characters were fairly likable—most of the time at least. As for the secondary characters, Joseph, Matt's father, was overblown in my opinion and Dan, a caricature of a villain.Other than that, Promises served its purpose as a fluffy, fairly uncomplicated romance. Entertaining.I've decided to read these in order so, on to A to Z.
